A novel catalyst system for the hydrogenation of simple ketone to chiral secondary alcohol:



This novel catalyst system employs variations of hybrid amino ligands in protic or aprotic solvents. Catalysis of a range of aryl ketones proceeds in high efficiently (TON = 20,000) and enantioselectivity (96% ee on average) for a variety of aromatic simple ketone compounds.
